You may notice, in an earlier post, I wrote the possessive of Reynolds as Reynolds's. I think, stylistically, some might prefer Reynolds'. My feelings are mixed. The programmer in me wants to minimize the exceptions, and so I apply my rule: For the possessive, attach an 's. Neither style, with a word-terminating s, is pretty. Such are the trials of the writer... Apropos of grammar: One thing that I hate is the spelling of judgment. Who was the first idiot to remove the e from after the g? Whatever for? The way it's spelled now, it spells jud-guh-ment. The e is necessary to change the sound of the g to j... Oh, never mind. Another lost battle.
